Professional 1

This is the highest tested rating possible and is achieved by scoring in the 90th percentile on the USPTA Certification Exam. Tennis professionals must have a minimum of three years' teaching experience and be 22 years old. Professional 1 members are commonly considered for director of tennis or head tennis professional job opportunities. They should be able to develop lesson programs, direct activities, manage pro shop operations and oversee a tennis facility. A Professional 1 also should be able to handle employee relations tasks such as hiring, developing budgets, directing communications and serving as an integral part of the facility management team.

Ken Olivier is personal coach to many tournament players qualifying ZAT, Champ and Super Champ level of play. His proven skill of taking kids through the levels is evident in the players he coaches. Ken's daughter Sheri Olivier is on full tennis scholarship at Texas A&M University and will be a sophomore in 2009/2010.

Ken has 20 years experience teaching and coaching tennis players and was selected as USTA national coach for 12, 14, and 16s boys and girls. He has coached over 100 USTA sanctioned tournament winners and has extensive experience working with juniors and adults. Ken has worked with world class coaches including Rick Macci, Russell Seymour, Fred Kniffen, Carmack Berryman, Vic Braden Sammy Giammalva and Dave Trebisky.

Ken is a national collegiate champion in singles and doubles, 4-time All-American, national amateur champion and obtained a final national collegiate ranking of #1 in singles and doubles while on full tennis scholarship, NAIA 1989. He was world ranked (ATP)  in singles and doubles on the pro tour.
